This year, the Calgary Stampede became a setting for country-wide collaboration, providing a space where political leaders came together to discuss and advance key initiatives in energy, infrastructure, and economic development. This year’s greatest outdoor show on Earth saw Prime Minister Mark Carney, and Leader of the Official Opposition, Pierre Poilievre, join other federal leaders to engage and talk directly with attendees about issues that matter to Canadians.
In addition to federal leaders, Ontario Premier Doug Ford and Alberta Premier Danielle Smith also joined and the outcome of that meeting was two Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) to advance pipelines, rail lines, and energy-trade infrastructure between both provinces. These efforts reflect a broader and urgent goal of enhancing Canada’s economic independence and reducing reliance on the United States.
We are inspired by how powerful aligned action can be, especially when it reflects the priorities of our audience of engaged women from across Canada. Our research indicates priorities are economic resilience, energy security, and a long-term vision for Canada’s energy future, and it felt like progress is happening after this year’s Stampede.
Canada Powered by Women was actively connecting with leaders from all political parties. As a non-partisan organization, we’re here to ensure the voices of engaged women are at the table in critical conversations about energy, infrastructure, and economic resilience.

It was wonderful to see so many familiar faces and we hope our pink shirts made us easy to find. We’re grateful to everyone who hosted us and to all who joined us at our own Stampede event.
