Canada Powered by Women statement on Canada-Alberta Memorandum of Understanding
CALGARY, ALBERTA (November 27, 2025) — As a nonpartisan nonprofit focused on amplifying women’s voices with policymakers and business leaders, we know Canadian women share a deep sense of pride in our natural resources. Engaged women from coast-to-coast consistently share their support for Canada’s economic growth through a strong energy sector, including new pipelines. There has long been a sense of urgency for Canada to expand the energy sector with new pipeline projects.
Today’s announcement will be seen as a positive step for engaged women, 85 per cent of whom want to see Canada support essential infrastructure, like pipelines, to ensure Canada’s long-term prosperity. This group, representing 42 per cent or 6.7 million women in Canada, knows the importance of creating the right conditions for economic growth, and this agreement pushes Canada in the right direction.
