We’re hiring: Junior Fundraiser & Government Relations Assistant

Canada Powered by Women is seeking a Junior Fundraiser & Government Relations Assistant to help drive our fundraising initiatives and support our advocacy work. In this role, you’ll contribute to donor engagement, campaigns, and government relations while working collaboratively across our team to advance CPW’s mission of economic prosperity and sustainability.

Key responsibilities

Fundraising Support (75% of role):

– Assist with campaigns, sponsorships, proposals, and donor events

– Research prospective donors, sponsors, and aligned funding opportunities

– Draft donor proposals, thank-you letters, and impact updates

– Maintain accurate donor records in Salesforce and generate reports

– Collaborate with marketing and communications on fundraising outreach, social media, and campaigns

– Coordinate logistics and follow-up for donor engagement events

Government Relations Support (25% of role):

– Monitor legislative and policy developments relevant to CPW’s mission

– Support preparation of briefing notes, advocacy materials, and stakeholder communications

– Assist with meetings involving elected officials, staffers, and partners

– Maintain stakeholder contact records in Salesforce and track engagement

– Provide admin support for advocacy days, speaking engagements, and related events

Skills & Experience

– Post-secondary education in public policy, political science, communications, nonprofit management, or related field

– Strong writing, research, and organizational skills

– 1–2 years of related work or volunteer experience (nonprofit, fundraising, advocacy, or public policy)

– Familiarity with Canadian political institutions and/or fundraising is an asset

– Bilingual (English & French) is an asset
