CPW is seeking a Marketing Specialist to support the execution of its national marketing, brand, and events platform. Reporting to the National Marketing Director, this role is responsible for delivering high-quality, coordinated marketing and event execution across campaigns, deploying content and editorial support across digital channels, and lending expertise and execution to programs and stakeholder initiatives.
This is a hands-on role ideal for a detail-oriented and proactive generalist with marketing, communications, content and events expertise who thrives in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment and is motivated by contributing to high-impact national initiatives in a variety of marketing and content deliverables.

The role
Campaign planning and execution
Under the guidance of the national marketing director, coordinate the planning and execution of integrated marketing campaigns aligned to CPW priorities via the customer relationship management (CRM) platform Salesforce. This includes a minimum of two to three national campaigns yearly connected to CPW’s research, national event series, workshop outputs, roundtables and government relations efforts.
Support campaign efforts directed to stakeholders related to fundraising, reporting of program performance, speaker kits, the impact report, etc.

Editorial, content and newsletter support
Working in close alignment with CPW contract team members and agency partners who are developing editorial and content, take an omni-channel approach to appropriately and consistently deploy content across CPW channels for maximum impact. This includes social media (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, X), email (MailChimp), and the CPW website.
Plan and execute the monthly publishing process for CPW’s Perspectives newsletter, including newsletter layout and design in MailChimp, deploying the newsletter to subscribers, and ensuring content is published to the website and social channels.
Take part in regular content and editorial planning processes, including maintaining and updating content calendars, story banks, and editorial committee meeting materials.

Digital, website and channel management
Coordinate the management of CPW’s owned channels, including the website and social media platforms.
Publish, schedule, and monitor the performance of digital content through use of tools including HootSuite, WordPress, and Google Analytics.
Draft planned social media posts and schedule for publishing as part of editorial development processes. These posts may include summaries of CPW speaking engagements, volunteer Chapter activities, and recognition of significant calendar days (e.g., Canada Day, National Day of Truth and Reconciliation).
With the guidance of the national marketing director, regularly update the CPW website, including keeping content fresh, accurate, relevant, and on-brand.
Manage CPW’s communities on social media, including monitoring posts, resharing, and commenting on relevant content and where CPW is mentioned.
Keep CPW’s internal photo library organized and up-to-date, and available to team members and agency partners.
Maintain brand consistency, including tone of voice, across all materials and platforms.
Events and program support
Support the delivery of CPW’s national events platform, including executive roundtables, corporate engagements, regional forums, receptions with government leaders, signature events, the national tour (minimum of five markets), partner speaking and tradeshow opportunities.
With the guidance of the national marketing director, develop and execute event promotional plans and deploy across CPW channels and with partners to maximize ticket sales and recognize sponsors and speakers.
For smaller events, coordinate event logistics, materials, and on-site execution as required, including work with agency partners and other CPW team members.
Assist with speaker coordination, presentations, and event communications.
Manage the events mailbox, including regularly monitoring and triaging or responding to inquiries.
Support sponsorship fulfillment tracking and deliverables related to event activations.

Marketing operations
Responsible for applying and optimizing the MarTech stack (Salesforce, MailChimp, EventBrite, etc.).
Execute email marketing campaigns and maintain distribution lists.
Support CRM management (Salesforce), including updates, list management and ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
Assist with campaign tracking, reporting, and analytics.
Maintain organized marketing and campaign documentation (workplans, trackers, timelines).
Responsible for campaign operations and reporting.
Develop processes for campaigns, events, and other areas to offer reliability and efficiency.
Apply governance and process implementation related to data and privacy.
Coordination and administration
Support coordination with agency partners, vendors, and contractors.
Assist with managing deliverables, timelines, and approvals across marketing initiatives.
Track to and reconcile budgets for specific marketing or event initiatives (e.g., a partner event that CPW participates in – golf tournament or similar).
Prepare materials for internal and external meetings (presentations, summaries, notes) when required.

Excellence in execution
Ensure accuracy, consistency, and quality across all outputs.
Support post-campaign and event evaluations and reporting.
Contribute to continuous improvement of processes and execution.
Your expertise
3–5 years of experience in marketing, communications, and digital roles.
Background knowledge and interest in the Canadian energy sector required.
Strong writing, editing, and planning skills including demonstrated ability to build and maintain workback schedules and critical paths.
Experience managing social media, email marketing, and website content.
Familiarity and proven experience with marketing, website, data analytics and social media platforms (MailChimp, Salesforce, WordPress, LinkedIn, Meta, X, YouTube, Hootsuite, Google Analytics, Eventbrite and similar tools).
Ability to use and apply AI tools in day-to-day work.
Experience supporting events and/or experiential marketing initiatives.
Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Collaborative, proactive, and comfortable working in a small, high-accountability team.
Interested in public affairs, the news and political cycle, natural resources and the economy as they related to the energy file is a must.
Role details
Full-time contractor role (~37.5 hours/week)
Calgary based only, hybrid work model.
Some travel required to support CPW’s event programming and stakeholder engagement.
Flexibility in hours due to the nature of events.
