Canada Powered by Women (CPW) is pleased to welcome Heidi Bredenholler-Prasad as the newest member of our Board of Directors. An accomplished executive with a strong track record in energy, innovation, and large-scale project delivery, Heidi brings deep expertise and a forward-looking perspective to CPW’s mission.
As Vice President of Commercial, Strategy & Business Development at Enbridge Gas, Heidi is responsible for driving growth and long-term strategy for North America’s largest natural gas utility. Her career spans continents and disciplines—from leading offshore wind projects in Germany to overseeing engineering and market development in Ontario. Known for her ability to solve complex challenges and communicate with clarity, Heidi is deeply committed to delivering value and advancing excellence across the energy sector.
When asked why she chose to join the CPW Board, Heidi was clear:
“Quite simply, the mission. Joining and amplifying the energy conversation with engaged women across Canada is both timely and relevant. CPW is the nexus of energy issues, Canadian voices, woman’s perspectives and being a part of that is energizing.”
We are proud to have Heidi’s leadership and vision at the table as CPW continues to expand its reach and impact. In a recent interview, Heidi shared more about her values, aspirations, and what excites her most about the road ahead.
What opportunities do you see for the Board to support CPW’s mission?
“It is such an exciting time to be in Canada and talking about our national energy landscape. The organization is thoughtfully expanding its presence across the country. And while digital platforms make broader reach possible, nothing replaces the power of in-person advocacy, especially for engaged women in the communities where we live, work, and play.”
What inspires you personally and professionally?
“This might sound cliché, but it’s true—I’m inspired by the goal of leaving the world better than I found it. Energy plays a vital role in both our present and future. In that spirit, I’m proud to be a voice for engaged women across Canada, helping to advance the national energy conversation.”
If you could give one piece of advice to your younger self at the start of your career, what would it be?
“Be more curious. I’ve always been naturally driven and focused, which can be an asset, but sometimes you’re so dialed in that you miss what’s happening around you. Perspective is just as important as focus, and magical things can happen when you find that balance.”
Where is your favourite place to visit in Canada and why?
“I have two: the Canadian Rockies—bold, rugged, and rising from pristine, glassy lakes. The fresh mountain air and scenery are both mentally and physically restorative. It’s the best kind of medicine. I also love the East Coast, where the Canadian Shield meets the Atlantic. It’s absolutely beautiful.”
